Why is my order being declined?

Caddipay is committed to supporting responsible spending. In addition to your established spending limit, Caddipay draws from a number of factors to determine approvals for purchases -- so it’s possible that even if an order is within your established limit, it may be declined.

Considerations include:

  • Whether there are sufficient funds on the debit or credit card linked to your Caddipay account for the installment due at purchase
  • If the funds available are less than the amount of your first installment, consider increasing your available balance to exceed that amount
  • Reducing your number of open orders currently being paid off
  • This does not guarantee a purchase will subsequently be approved
  • The value of the order you are trying to place
  • If you reduce the dollar amount in your shopping cart, this may enable the purchase to be approved

Why can’t I use my Capital One credit card?

Capital One has a policy that charges their credit cardholders a cash advance fee for using certain services including CaddiPay. As a result, we will not be accepting Capital One credit cards for payments.

Caddipay accepts debit and credit cards from Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. Prepaid cards, American Express, and credit cards issued by Capital One Bank are not eligible to be added to your Caddipay account. We do accept Capital One debit cards. We apologize for this inconvenience.

I was charged a cash advance fee, why was I charged?

What’s happening?

Some customers may see “Cash Advance” fees appear on their credit card statements in connection with a payment made to Caddipay. These fees are not charged by Caddipay, rather they are imposed by the issuing bank for your credit card.

Why does this happen?

Banks assign a Merchant Category Code (MCC) to every transaction, which allows the bank to categorize the payments you are making.  Your bank may charge a fee for certain categories of payments, as dictated by your cardmember agreement.  Some banks may categorize payments to Caddipay as payments to a financial institution, which could result in an interpretation by the bank that the payment is actually a cash advance.  Depending on the terms of your cardmember agreement, you may be assessed a cash advance fee in these cases.

How can I resolve the issue?

If you’ve been assessed a cash advance fee for a Caddipay payment, we recommend reaching out to your financial institution directly to dispute the fee they charged you. Some links to some of the major U.S. financial institutions can be found below:

Can I change my payment due date?

No. Your payment due dates are determined by your initial purchase date. The amounts due for future installments can be reduced by making additional payments in the Caddipay member portal.

Can I pay less than the full installment amount?

Your installment amounts are determined by your total amount being purchased using Caddipay. If you would like to reduce future installment amounts, you can log in to your Caddipay account and make an additional payment which will cause your future payments to be reduced. Your balance can be paid off in full at any time.

I want my money back. Can I cancel a payment?

If you are unhappy with your purchase or you believe you are due a refund, please contact the retailer from which you made your purchase directly. If you are eligible for a refund under their policy, they will work with Caddipay to return the funds to the card you provided for payment.

How do I request a refund?

Please contact the retailer from which you made your purchase to request a refund and make arrangements to return your purchase if you have already received it. They will work with Caddipay directly to process your refund.

Refunds & cancellations are handled through the retailer with which you purchased the items. Please contact the merchant at which you made your purchase to request a refund. The merchant will inform Caddipay when the refund has been processed and approved, and it will take up to 5-7 business days for your account to be credited accordingly. Refunds will first be applied to remaining payments, and any remaining balance due to you will be credited to your payment method on file.

Your automated payments will continue as scheduled until we receive notice that the refund has been approved and we have processed it, at which point we will send you a confirmation email regarding your request with the updated payment amounts.

How do I report an unauthorized transaction or account activity?

Please contact the retailer from which you made your purchase immediately to address an unauthorized purchase. They will work with Caddipay directly should you require a refund. If you believe your Caddipay account was compromised, contact us at customerservice@caddipay.com.

Where can I find my orders and payment information?

Log in to the Caddipay portal and go to Account. A comprehensive overview of orders, payment status, and associated debit or credit cards are available to you there.

My available Caddipay funds are less than the amount of the purchase I want to make. Can I still use them?

Yes. The difference between your available credit and the total purchase amount will be included in your first payment due at checkout.
